Emmanuel Episcopal Church
VDC was hired by the Vestry of Emmanuel Church to provide a review of the tower structure with an eye to stabilization and repair of the existing roof structure.
Inspection of the tower revealed 83 years of dust, dirt, dead birds and squirrels as well as numerous safety and structural concerns. A design-build team was formed to stabilize the roof structure and create a structure strong enough to hold up the roof with a donated 'Herefordshire' spire and bells. The completed project reveals the blending of modern technology with respect for the history of the bell tower of Emmanuel Church. The installation of an interior skylight shaft area provides a beautiful view from the interior of the church and a glimpse into the tower's history over the last 100 years.
